Ask the Universe

The first blog of the New Year – so where have I been?

Well, I’ve spent the past week moving into our new Como Centre with my business partner, Gill.  We have had so much fun in the past few days, setting out our stuff, deciding what is going where, shopping and, of course, inviting our families in to see what we have achieved.

What I want to share with you now is how this all came about so quickly and how, when you ask, the Universe really does conspire to help you.

From around the middle of the year when our work really started to take off, it became our wish to have a home of our own.  We used to sit and dream about what it would be like and all the wonderful things that we could do.  We set our intentions, asked the Universe for help and just let it be.

On 14th November Gill and I had to go into our bank and while we were waiting we started chatting and the subject of our own premises somehow cropped up.  She suggested we popped into the estate agents whilst in town, just to have a look to see what was available.

She was drawn to a particular estate agent, and we have several in our town, so in we went.  Looking at the properties in the window it soon became evident that we couldn’t afford the premises on offer.  Just as we were leaving, the agent disappeared for a moment and popped back out clutching some details that he thought might just interest us.

We took the details and went home.  It looked good on paper.  We needed to take a look and managed to get an appointment that afternoon; it was perfect.  We talked about it for ages – should we, shouldn’t we.  We both wanted to do it very much but we felt there was a need to be sensible.  We decided to sleep on it.

The following morning nothing had changed – we still had this overwhelming urge to go with it.  Financially it was a bit of a risk, but if we didn’t try we would never know.  We phoned the estate agent and the rest, as they say, is history.

We both feel that we were guided all the way - everything went so smoothly.  We are so grateful for all the help we have been given, it's been amazing.

Our home is beautiful, it has the most wonderful, calming, atmosphere and the energies are building nicely.  We know that we will both be very happy there and will do some fabulous work.

So if you have a dream, ask the Universe to help you.  You may not get it tomorrow but, if it’s in your best interests, you will get all the help you need.  Remember though, you do have to act upon the guidance you’re given!

Another of Those Dreams

Last night I had another of those vivid dreams that not only stay with you for a while but also make you look deeper into their meaning.

In the dream I was travelling to a training course in a mini-bus.  The bus turned into the car park of a club in our town, but the car park turned into the driveway of a place where I used to work.  I told the driver to keep to the right-hand side of the drive as we needed to go to the canteen.  The canteen was at yet another work location and had turned into a nightclub with a tropical theme.  Some of the people I used to work with were there and I found myself talking to an actor in one of our TV soaps.  I commented about the new building work and he offered to show me around.  As we walked down the driveway we came into a small town in Poland.  The actor pointed out some of the buildings and took me into a home where the lady sold hand-knitted baby clothes.  As I left the house I bumped into a lady who dropped an envelope containing money.  The envelope floated down the gutter and she got quite cross with me, saying that I could have retrieved it for her.  I ran after the envelope but it was picked up by a very old woman running a market stall.  I tried to explain, using hand gestures, that I knew who it belonged to and she agreed that I could take it.  As I picked it up it was much bigger and contained much more money than when the lady dropped it.  I returned the envelope and as she was about to say thank you I woke up.

So, all really weird as only dreams can be.  But my interpretation is this.

The fact that I was going on a training course equates with the holistic training programme that we are incorporating into Como.  Not sure why I went to two of my previous work places or why an actor turned up.  I think the building work represents all the work we are putting into building our business, plus the fact that we are just about to move into our own premises.  The old Polish town and the knitting leave me stumped but I think that the lady dropping the envelope of money represents the slight concerns I had that we could lose money by renting these premises.  Now, I am hoping that by finding and retrieving the money, and the fact that it had increased considerably, indicates that our new venture will be ok.

Wonder if I’ve got that all right?

Just a Dream?

I’ve never really paid too much attention to dreams, some are nice and some not so nice but I’ve never thought too deeply about their meaning.  I know that sometimes our guides and angels work with us in dream state and I’m now wondering if that’s what happened to me last night.

The dream was this:

I’d nipped down to my local Sainsbury to get a few bits and pieces but when I came out I couldn’t remember where I’d parked my car.  The car park was half empty but I still couldn’t see it.  I used the remote to unlock the doors thinking that I would see the lights and hear it click open.  I heard the click and saw the lights flicker out of the corner of my eye, but when I turned towards it I still couldn’t see the car.  I repeated it a couple of times, heard the click and saw the lights at the periphery of my vision but as I turned towards it, still no car.  I walked back towards the shop and then I found myself on a building site.  I knew I couldn’t ask the builders about me car as they would laugh and say “silly bloody woman”.  As I walked along the building site changed into a beautiful little alleyway, the type you see lovely Mediterranean  villages.  It could have been Greek, Italian or even Spanish, I just don’t know.  I then found myself in the home of a middle-aged couple who smiled in welcome but could speak no English.  I tried to apologise for suddenly appearing in their home but I don’t think they understood, they just kept smiling and welcoming me.  I tried to find my way back out of the room, the man opened a door and pointed upwards.  There was the biggest step I’d ever seen, it reached up to my waist and I knew I would not be able to get out that way.  The man went to another door and, although I couldn’t understand what he was saying to the woman, I knew he went to get me a ladder to climb up on.  The lady told him not to, that I had to get out by myself.  I looked back inside the doorway and at shoulder level I saw two rope handles, one each side of the door.  I grabbed hold of the handles and eventually managed to pull myself up onto the step.  Once there I could see the way out but it was through a short narrow tunnel; there was bright light at the end.  I pushed and shoved and squeezed myself through and as I did so I somehow managed to turn to the woman and said “it’s a bit like giving birth”.  Then I woke up.

So it’s all a bit surreal and jumbled as only dreams can be.  But thinking about it this morning I think I begin to get its meaning.  The losing the car is unlike me as I usually remember roughly where I’ve parked it but I assimilate this to having started to develop spiritually and then stopping – I had something and then I lost it.  Using the remote and seeing the lights is rather like the feeling I sometimes have that I know something amazing, a bit like a eureka moment, but then it slips through my fingers and I’ve lost it and I can’t bring it back.  Not quite sure how a Mediterranean village home fits in but the couple seemed to be expecting me – I think they were sent to help and encourage me on my journey.  The man clearly wanted to help but the lady seemed to know that I had to achieve it on my own – find my own way.  It wasn’t easy to get through the doorway, I struggled to get up the step and big steps are always murder on my knees, but then I did have help with the rope handles.  Now I’ve been questioning long and hard lately, am I cut out for this kind of work, is it all true or just a figment of my imagination, can I trust enough to go with the flow?  For me this means that it is hard sometimes but if you put the effort in you will achieve your aims.  And finally the giving birth bit, this is me finally breaking through and making that connection within myself and seeing that I am exactly where I should be.

Now you may tell me it was just a dream, some may give me a completely different interpretation, but for now I think I am very happy with my version.
